NORTH KINGSTOWN — Scalabrini Father Francis Minchiatti, 88, died March 6 at Scalabrini Villa Health Care Facility.
Born in Marsciano, province of Perugia, Italy, he was the son of the late Agostino and Emma (Bistarelli) Minchiatti.
Father Minchiatti was ordained to the priesthood on June 29, 1945 in Bassano del Grappa, province of Vincenza, Italy, and was then assigned to serve in the North American missions of the Province of St. Charles Borromeo. Father Minchiatti served in several parishes in Massachusetts, and at St. Rocco Church, Johnston.
A concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated March 10 in the chapel of Scalabrini Villa. Burial will be in Perugia, Italy
