Ralph E. Lennon, 86

JOHNSTON — Ralph E. Lennon, 86, the brother of Dominican Father Joseph L. Lennon of Providence College, died May 5 at Cherry Hill Manor. He was the former husband of the late Carol M. (Doonan) Lennon.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John and Marjorie C. (McCabe) Lennon, and was a lifelong resident of Providence.

He served in the Army during World War II, and worked as a supervisor in the heavy storage department at Narragansett Electric Company for 40 years, before retiring in 1984.

In addition to Father Lennon, he is survived by three sons: Ralph E. Lennon Jr., Joseph L. Lennon and Robert J. Lennon; a daughter, Kathleen Lennon Warhurst; and several grandchildren. He was the father of the late John J. and Mary E, Lennon, and brother of the late Bernard T., Frederick M., James E., Robert J., John J., Marjorie D. and Mary M. Lennon.

A Mass of Christian Burial was concelebrated May 8 in St. Pius V Church, Providence. Burial, with military honors, was in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
