The student council of St. Joseph School, West Warwick, sponsored numerous fundraising events in support of breast cancer awareness.
These events included a bake sale and pink sock sale. As a result of the student’s efforts, a check for $362 was sent to the Gloria Gemma Foundation, a organization that provides support and resources about early detection of breast cancer. On Nov. 19, Pink Heals arrived at St. Joseph School with their pink fire truck and police car to receive a check for an additional $404. Pink Heals is an organization of fire fighters and police officers from across Rhode Island who believe that honoring women by wearing pink and driving pink vehicles will not only help fight cancer, but bring smiles to the faces of suffering women.
