Bishop Thomas J. Tobin visited The Prout School last Thursday, September 15, to celebrate the opening Mass of the school’s 50th anniversary year. Concelebrating with school chaplain Father Joseph Upton and several diocesan priests, Bishop Tobin encouraged the students to continue to do God’s work during the new academic year.

“This anniversary, like any anniversary, is a combination of the past and future of The Prout School,” he said. Earlier in the week, as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations, students received a visit from several Sisters of the Cross and Passion who gave a presentation about Sister Elizabeth Prout, founder of the order and school namesake. The Prout School was founded by the Sisters of the Cross and Passion in 1966.
