LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Proud of our religious identity

Posted

TO THE EDITOR:

By refusing to acknowledge the word Christmas, Rhode Islanders are forced to accept one more way in which religious liberties are being stifled in this state and around the country.

In a world where we are supposed to respect others, the Christian religion seems to be exempt. It seems that we are not allowed to say the word Christmas anymore for fear of offending someone who might not be celebrating.

All of this so called political correctness is really just a way for people who are against Christianity to preach “respect” at the cost of the truth. We have already had the nativity scenes removed years ago from state displays, and this latest blow is just insulting. It is interesting to see the reaction of people of all beliefs on this.
