To The Editor:
Regarding the "Please bring back prayers for priests" in the January 3 issue of the Rhode Island Catholic, I totally agree and would like the inspiring column restored.
The decision to run it once a year in November takes away from a weekly reminder of the great sacrifice the men have made and the value of the dedication to God as a way of life.
How are we to increase vocations to the priesthood and religious life if this column is reduced to once a year?
The column was a reminder to pray for vocations as well as to pray for the priests listed. The recognition of priests is of much greater value than Pontius Puddle, which I often find offensive. If something has to go, let us get our priorities in order.
