PROVIDENCE — The diocesan Respect Life Office announces the following opportunities to support life at all stages.

The next Gabriel Workshop will be held on August 27 at St. Gregory the Great Parish Center in Warwick from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The workshop will include: Opening Prayer, Exploring the Elizabeth Ministry, How Gabriel Angels Can Help and Enriching the Gabriel Family. Pre-registration is required to ensure sufficient handouts.

Would you like to learn more about becoming a Gabriel Angel? Volunteer and learn how you can share your time and talents with women who are pregnant, desperate, and in need of help?

If your parish is interested in hosting a baby shower for the Gabriel Project, let us know.

The Gabriel Project services are available at our headquarters at 184 Broad St., Providence – as well as other diocesan Social Service Outreach Centers. Our newest location for the Gabriel Project will be at the social ministry office located at Project Hope in Pawtucket. Staff will be available by appointment or walk-in on Monday afternoons from 2:30-4:30 p.m. and on the first Saturday of each month from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m., beginning the week of August 3.

Once again, St. Peter School’s kindergarten class sold flowers for the Gabriel Project. The children plant bulbs in their Mothers’ Garden alongside the school and they sell flowers in honor of all mothers living and deceased. The Gabriel Project is grateful to Ms. McArthur and her class for remembering us again this year and for their generous check. For more information about the Gabriel Project, call Carol Owens at 421-7833 x 118 or e-mail: rl.outreach@dioceseofprovi-dence.org.

Writing for life and on life-related issues from abortion, marriage, poverty, immigration and other issues is one aspect of Bishop Tobin’s Human Life Guild organization and one that is vital as we continue to promote and defend human life at every stage and every condition by expressing our thoughts and words. We have 32 members in the bishop’s writing group. If you are interested in participating as a member of the writing team, let us know. This invitation is open to all Catholics from teens to senior citizens. The Human Life Guild has more than 2,000 members and is still growing. If you have not joined, call or e-mail your request for a membership form. It is important for us to know from time to time if you are receiving our communications, perhaps you have had a change of home address or e-mail address – keep us updated. Human Life Guild doesn’t require dues or meetings – only opportunities for all people of life in our diocese.
