Mobile Loaves and Fishes: Our Lady of Mercy School begins new service program

Posted

A new service initiative has been introduced at Our Lady of Mercy School, East Greenwich and, after several months of planning, was launched for the first time this week.

In conjunction with St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in East Greenwich, OLM students will be providing bag lunches to be delivered to the Harrington House Homeless Shelter in Cranston once a month. The project is part of a national program called “Mobile Loaves and Fishes,” based in Austin, Texas. Established in 1998, the group’s mission is to provide food, clothing and dignity to those less fortunate. More information about the organization can be found on its website at www.mlf.org.
