May God be with you on your Lenten Journey

As the Lenten Season began, faithful gathered for the Ash Wednesday Mass at the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul on February 26.

In his homily, Bishop Thomas J. Tobin told all those gathered that throughout Lent, Catholics must focus on prayer, fasting and good works.

“Prayer lifts us up to God, our fasting makes us stronger and our charity helps us reach out to others,” said Bishop Tobin. “The ashes we wear mean something. Lent is a journey, dear brothers and sisters, that takes us from sin to grace, from death to life. May God be with you as you begin your Lenten Journey and may you all have a blessed and fruitful Lenten season.”
