“We are very, very proud of each and every one of you as we recognize your great achievements and accomplishments in a very public way this afternoon,” said Bishop Tobin. “We know that someday all of you will emerge as the leaders of our church and our community and we hope and pray that as you do so you will always be strong in your faith ... that you are always proud to be a Catholic; that you always be aware of the great work the Church does every day; and that you be eager and anxious to share your faith and your goodness with other people. We pray that God will continue bless you in the days and years to come.”

The Bishop also extended his gratitude to the adult leaders who have shared their generosity, time, talent and example with the young people. He also encouraged all faithful to continue to learn from Jesus’ example of goodness and incorporate it in their own daily life.

“Once you have encountered Jesus, then you will be anxious and eager to set forth to share the good news to make the world a better place, a brighter place,” he said.
