Made with love: Mercymount School helps homeless

Posted

Members of the Mercymount Country Day School National Junior Honor Society recently made and donated 20 blankets to area shelters to benefit the needy and homeless.

They purchased the supplies and spent several days making self-tie fleece blankets, donating them to three area organizations that work with those in need, including the following organizations: Haven of Grace Women’s Shelter, Harvest Church Men’s Shelter and the ministry of the Back Door Sandwish Mission of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart. The National Junior Honor Society, founded in 1929, was established to recognize academic achievement and promoting the development of personal characteristics that are desirable in good democratic citizens. Those ideals are character, service, citizenship, leadership and scholarship. Inductees must maintain excellence in these areas to continue to be active members of the society.
