Lucien O. Dussault

LINCOLN – Lucien O. Dussault, 83, of Bouvier Avenue, Manville died Sunday, November 15, 2009 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the most beloved husband of Cecile (Pontbriand) Dussault to whom he was married for 64 years on July 24.

Born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Charles E. and Blandine (Sylvestre) Dussault and the stepson of the late Laura (Sirois) Dussault, he had lived in Manville for the past 64 years.

Mr. Dussault was a body man for Gene's Auto Body, Manville and later worked as an insurance adjustor and appraiser, both for Aetna Life & Casualty and as an independent before retiring in 1989.

He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran (Corporal) and a member of Alphonse Yelle Post #9, American Legion, Manville. Lucien received his GED from Woonsocket High School.

He was an active parishioner of St. James Church and a lifelong member of the Manville Sportsmen's Club, both of Manville.

Known to his friends as "Giz", He was a kind and gentle man, with a tremendous spirit of strength. He could fix everything and no job was too big or too small. His greatest passion was spending time with his loved ones especially playing cards each evening. Lucien's family was the center of his life, and traveling with his precious wife especially to their winter home in Arizona, his greatest pleasure.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Carmen Dussault and her husband, Donald Evernden of Calgary, Alberta and Louise Dussault of Manville; two sons, Roger Dussault and his wife, Donna of Yuma, AZ and Paul Dussault and his wife, Rosalinda of Barrington, IL; one adopted daughter, Fernande Dery of Manville; one sister, Cecile Agena and her husband, Edward of Chula Vista, CA; two sisters-in-law, Sr. Doris Pontbriand, SSA, and Suzanne Pontbriand; and four Pontbriand brothers-in-law, Jean (who predeceased him) and his wife, Sylvia, Lucien and his wife, Joan, Leo (his best friend) and his wife, Pauline, and Richard and his wife, Jacqueline; three grandchildren, Irene, Christine and David; two step-grandchildren, Misty and Jimmy; four great-grandchildren, Katherine, Amber, Hunter and Gage; two godchildren, Renee and Debbie and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral was held Thursday, November 19 at the Bellows-Falso Funeral Chapel with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. James Church.
