WOONSOCKET — All Knights and their families, as well as all Catholics are invited to attend the annual Knights of Columbus Day of Recollection, Freedom through Penance, which will be held on Saturday, March 10, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., with Mass offered at 4 p.m., at All Saints Church, 323 Rathbun St.

The special day will include themed talks and discussions. A free-will lunch will be prepared and made available to those who attend.

This day will be hosted by R.I. Knights of Columbus State Chaplain Father Joseph Paquette, the retired pastor of St. Theresa Church in Pawtucket. Father Paquette was a La Salette Brother working as a social worker on the streets of Montreal, Canada in the early 1960s helping drug addicts, prostitutes, the poor, abused children, the elderly and alcoholics, when the Lord called him to the priesthood. Father Paquette was ordained to the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette in 1978. His first assignment was to the La Salette Shrine. He joined the Diocese of Providence in 1986 and he was assigned to St. Theresa’s Church in Pawtucket. He subsequently served assignments at St. Gregory Church, Warwick, and St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Providence, before returning to serve at St. Theresa’s.

Ryan Tremblay, an award-winning musician with an inspiring story to tell, will be the featured presenter of the day. Tremblay has a degree in Jazz Studies from Rhode Island College. While at RIC he was invited to enter a Canadian competition, which he won. He has performed internationally, including, by invitation, at World Youth Day in Krakow in 2017. Tremblay’s love of music has allowed him to share his love of Jesus and the church with a wide number of people. His tour schedule includes venues throughout Rhode Island, Southeastern Massachusetts and beyond. Ryan is a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree.

To RSVP, please call the Knights’ State Council office at 401-434-0940. Participants are invited to bring non-perishable items for the Rhode Island Food Bank.
