TO THE EDITOR:
This is a very short and simple answer to the question that the Rev. Joseph L. Lennon, OP asked at the end of his column, “Celibacy is not the villain in the clerical sex abuse scandal” in your paper dated 09/27/07.
The question posed was, “Does today’s mutual exclusiveness of matrimony and holy orders cripple the Church in her ability to love?”
Without any hesitation, I unequivocally and without my hands being tied, answer “Yes!”
