Good Shepherd Catholic Regional School holds eighth grade graduation

WOONSOCKET — Good Shepherd Catholic Regional School held a graduation liturgy and ceremony at St. Joseph Church on Monday, June 22.

The liturgy was celebrated by Father Ryan Simas, pastor of St. Joseph Church, with music provided by Hannah and Olivia Kline and Isabella Giacobbe.

Welcoming remarks were given by Brendan Koss; readings by Greer Cournoyer and Emma Ergott; and The Prayer of the Faithful was led by Madison Williams. The graduation exercises immediately followed the liturgy. Mrs. Jennifer DeOliveira, GWCRS Administrator/Principal, welcomed students, families, clergy, faculty and staff.

The salutatorian address was given by Greer Cournoyer and the valedictorian address was given by Emma Ergott. The Student of the Year award, voted on by the faculty and staff, was presented to Greer Cournoyer. A special scholarship donated by Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lepine in Memory of Mr. and Mrs. Lucien Wante and Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Lepine is presented to a graduating 8th grader that will be attending Mount Saint Charles Academy.

The recipient of the special scholarship is Alexis Robillard. Eighth grade graduates are: Cara Adams, Yasleiny Campos, Alessandra Carcifero, Greer Cournoyer, Tyler Dias, Zoey Elston, Emma Ergott, Olivia Harnois, Osayuwamen Idahosa, Brendan Koss, Sawyer Langton, Zachary Lizotte, Riley Peck, Katelyn Picard, Alexis Robillard, Yelainny Rodriguez, Danny Saengsyri, Nabou Thiam, Benjamin Villatoro and Madison Williams.
