LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Give every life a chance to blossom

Posted

TO THE EDITOR:

I am a flower gardener, and have been for 30 or more years. Whenever I plant a seed, a bulb, corn or rhizome (ugly as they are) and they start their journey toward maturity, I am amazed when they sprout a beautiful, fascinating eye-popping flower. I am educated by them. It makes me think there is a God. There must be. How can such a beautiful flower come from these small, insignificant items that some people throw away? Man fertilizes a seed in a woman and a baby grows. A beautiful boy or girl starts its journey toward adulthood and I think there is a God. The joy that the baby gives its parents during childhood as they mature into adulthood is what parenthood is all about, and that has maintained the procreation of our world.
Why else would we have babies? These new babies as they mature into adults enhance the lives of all of us. Just think of the many discoveries of the past couple of decades, all by babies of the past years. All these improvements were discovered or developed by young adults. What if these people had been aborted? Life is precious. We must give every seed a chance to develop into beautiful flowers to show what they have to make this life more beautiful and worthwhile.
