PROVIDENCE – 'Agnes of God,' a story of novice nun's spirituality coming head to head with the realities of her earthly life, will be presented by Providence College beginning January 25 at the Angell Blackfriars Theatre on the campus.

The play chronicles the secular and spiritual investigations that ensue when novice nun Agnes gives birth while living in a convent. The critically-acclaimed play won the 1979 Great American Play Contest and enjoyed a lengthy run on Broadway before being made into a major motion picture.

The Providence College Department of Theatre, Dance and Film will stage six performances of the play: January 25-27 and February 1-3. Tickets are $11, $8 for seniors and $5 for students and can be purchased at the school’s box office at the Smith Center.
