PROVIDENCE — Registration is now open for the first-ever Diocesan Youth Day. This daylong event for teens and young adults will feature Mass, Adoration, worship music, speakers and much more.

The Diocesan Youth Day entitled, “Enflamed,” will be held September 8 from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland, rain or shine, and will feature a wonderful celebration of the faith, similar to that of Steubenville East, but right here in Rhode Island.

Special guests include, Bishop Thomas J. Tobin; noted national Catholic musician Michael Mette and family; Revive Ministry; Father Joseph Brice; Seminarian Dan Mahoney; St. Philip Youth Choir and numerous workshop and prayer experience presenters.

Louise Dussault, director of the Office of Catholic Youth Ministry, shared that the Diocesan Youth Day will be an awesome experience of faith and hope for high school and young adults in the Catholic Church.

“Young hearts will be ‘enflamed’ by the love only God gives and moved to share the power of his passion not only at the event, but upon return to their homes, parishes and schools,” she said. “From amazing music, compelling presenters, deep moments of prayer and transformational encounters through the Sacraments including Eucharist and Reconciliation — these young people will be called to deepen their lives as disciples of Christ. It will be an incredibly memorable event. Join Bishop Tobin, the youth ministry community and several hundred youth as the Church in R.I. rocks!”

Parishes who have chosen to buy the Diocesan Youth Day/ Diocese of Providence t-shirts to use with their groups for the Steubenville Conferences — pay $8 per shirt. If any young person from one of those parishes wants to attend the Diocesan Youth Day it allows them a $10 discount on the registration cost — of $20 — so attendees will only have to pay $10 to come for the day.

Registration can be found online at www.catholicyouthri.com. More information about tickets, schedule and other important details will be available on www.catholicyouthri.com as well as Diocesan Youth Day 2018 Facebook page as it becomes available.
