PROVIDENCE – The Most Rev. Thomas J. Tobin, Bishop of Providence, has announced the retirement of Father Paul F. Reynolds as pastor of St. Mary Church, West Warwick, effective immediately.
Father Reynolds, a native of Providence, was educated at St. Mary’s School and St. Raphael Academy, Pawtucket. He began studying for the priesthood at Our Lady of Providence Seminary College, Warwick Neck and completed his studies at St. Mary’s Seminary, Baltimore, Maryland. He was ordained on June 5, 1965 by Bishop Russell J. McVinney in the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul, Providence.
He served as assistant pastor at several parishes including Blessed Sacrament, Providence, 1965-1967; St. Joseph, Newport, 1967-1969; St. Lawrence, Centredale, 1969-1982; and St. Martha in East Providence, 1982-1992.
Father Reynolds has served as pastor of St. Mary’s Parish since 1992.
