Faith-filled summer feast honors Our Blessed Mother

The faithful gather at the St. Mary’s Festival in Cranston, an annual summer celebration of Italian food and faith-filled tradition. The event included Mass — which was celebrated Friday night inside the church this year instead of on its steps due to high temperatures — food, entertainment, fireworks and a candlelight procession in honor of Madonna Della Civita. In his homily, Father Eric Silva, assistant pastor of St. Luke’s Church, Barrington encouraged all those gathered to continue to seek Mary’s intercession in their lives. “We celebrate, much like our Blessed Mother did, by giving our ‘yes’ to God. By saying yes to God and the work he has called us to do both as a parish community and a church as a whole.”
