Evil at root of Newtown tragedy

Posted

TO THE EDITOR:

Innocence lost can never be regained. Evil personified by man’s inhumanity to man descended upon the town of Newtown, Conn., Friday, Dec. 14 at 9:30 a.m. and entered the classrooms of the Sandy Hook Elementary School. It mercilessly wreaked havoc, terror and death on 20 innocent children and six heroic teachers and ended the dreams that first graders dream and hopes that proud parents hope.

Politicians, lawyers and psychologists will sift through the debris of this macabre tragedy to find a plausible cause and point the finger of blame on someone or something, but they will not come to the definitive cause of this tragedy because nothing exists in the psychiatric world to explain this kind of human behavior for which no prescription can be written in these drug dependent times.

In the secular world and government, none will call this tragedy what it is—evil! Evil is not a state of mind, it is a state of being that seeks to dwell deeply in the mind, heart and soul of all of us. Medicine and drugs are ineffective against evil and the only true panacea for it we ban from all of the secular society. They demand its removal from all public buildings and speech because someone may be offended by it. The majority are silenced and forced to conceal their beliefs because the minority are offended by God!
