The first Latino Enrollment Institute in New England was held at the Aldrich Mansion from October 2-4. The Institute, which comes out of Notre Dame University, was organized by the diocesan Catholic School Office.

More than 70 participants from eight New England dioceses took part, including principals and staff from four local Catholic schools, St. Pius X, Blessed Sacrament, St. Paul and St. Teresa, seeking to better respond to the changing demographics by creating a welcoming environment for children of latino immigrants families. Also in attendance were the staff of the Office of Hispanic Ministry.

Daniel Ferris, Superintendent of Catholic Schools, said that the group in attendance will have monthly follow up meeting to implement a set of action items and strategies that the schools leaders learned, with the goal of reaching out to more latino families, resulting in a higher participation and enrollment in Catholic education.
