TO THE EDITOR:
I have been listening to the recent discussion in our state concerning the “Holiday” tree.
I believe that this confusion would be resolved if we, the Catholic Diocese of Providence, led by our bishop, celebrated the liturgical season that we are currently experiencing – Advent. If we did such, then we would be more concerned with educating the faithful about this wonderful Season of waiting and experiencing God’s salvation history by celebrating the Jesse Tree – leaving the Christmas tree for its proper season.
