PROVIDENCE — The Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence has launched a redesigned Web site to support its Catholic elementary and high schools.

The site provides helpful information to parents and guardians seeking a Catholic education for their children and promotes the strong values instilled in Catholic schools by dedicated administrators, teachers and support staff.

Located at www.catholicschools.org, the new, user-friendly Web site includes a number of innovative features for current or prospective Catholic school parents.

For prospective parents, the new Web site includes a school locator, tuition assistance information with helpful links, and news about before- and after-school programs.

The site also includes a comprehensive list of links and contact information for individual schools, and reflections about the worth of a faith-based education.

For those individuals whose children already attend Catholic schools in the Diocese of Providence, the Web site provides information on the statewide transportation system and the Rhode Island Catholic Parents Federation, an organization that advocates at the State House on behalf of Catholic education.

Other new features include a newsroom that is updated weekly with pertinent information for parents and educators, employment opportunities, “sponsor-a-student” philanthropic opportunities and additional important school news.
