Cluny School eighth-grader, Hannah Marley, recently won a first place award in the Rhode Island Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF). The Intel ISEF is a program sponsored by the Society for Science and the Public (SSP); it is the world’s largest international pre-college science competition. Marley competed in the Junior Division, and received an award in the Plant Sciences category. Projects in this category explore plant structure, classification, pathology, genetics, physiology and development. They also address topics in ecology, plant breeding, cultivation, systematics and evolution. Marley’s award ranked her among the top ten students in the Junior Division. Marley first enrolled at Cluny School as a pre-kindergarten student. On June 14, she will graduate from Cluny School and attend Tiverton High School. When asked what she will take from her time at Cluny, she said, “I will always remember the kindness at Cluny.”
