Charles G. Kelley

AKRON, OHIO — Charles G. Kelley, 93, the father of Father Michael A. Kelley, assistant pastor of Immaculate Conception Church, Westerly, died Feb. 22.

Born in Newport, Ky., he was the husband of the late Marguerite J. (Stack).

He served as a captain in the Army Air Corps during World War II, and received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Akron. He was employed as an accountant by the Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. for 44 years, and was an active parishioner of Annunciation Catholic Church for 60 years.

In addition to Father Kelley, he is survived by four other sons, Dr. Charles Kelley of Providence, Kevin Kelley of Avon Lake, Ohio, Timothy Kelley of Yucca Valley, Calif., and Campion Kelley of Akron; a daughter, Christine Domenico of Meadow Vista, Calif.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also the father of the late Brian Kelley.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Feb. 29 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery.
