WOONSOCKET – Cecilia A. (Dziob) Kubaska, 88, a resident of Woonsocket and Narragansett, and sister of the late Rev. Msgr. Dziob, pastor emeritus of the former St. Leo the Great Parish, Pawtucket, died Nov. 23 at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Dr. John T. Kubaska.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Antonina (Sabik) Dziob. She was a 1941 graduate of Woonsocket High School, earned a diploma in nursing in 1945 from Children’s Hospital, Boston, Mass., and then worked as an operating room nurse at the hospital prior to her marriage.
She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish and was past president of the Ladies Rosary Sodality.
She is survived by two sons, Dr. Robert J. and Dr. William M. Kubaska; three daughters, Dr. Cathy A. Ball, Christine Kalinowski and Carolyn Vaillancourt.
In addition to Msgr. Dziob, seven other siblings, Dr. John S., Franciscan Sister Mary Ardeen, Dr. Joseph M., Francis E., and Antonina A. Dziob, and two sisters who died in infancy and childhood predeceased her.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Nov. 26 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Woonsocket. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
