To the Editor:
I am in complete support of what Governor Carcieri is trying to do. I understand as most Americans do the critical problems which have been created by the flood of illegal immigrants. Bishop Tobin has contributed little of value to the discussion with his statements at his recent press conference. Just what was the purpose? I saw very little except platitudes about his perception of the issues. No concrete proposals were presented. I believe that the Bishop is missing the truth that America is a nation of laws, pure and simple. The church should be standing on sacred ground of a defender of a good man dealing with a multi-faceted problem of thousands of lawbreakers.
