PROVIDENCE - Members of Catholic Youth Ministry and the Boy and Girls Scouts of America came together on Sunday, March 10 to be awarded for their achievements.
Bishop Thomas J. Tobin presided over the Mass and awards ceremony, which was held at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul. The bishop encouraged hundreds of young scouts to be open to a call to vocations and shared that their recognitions are richly deserved. "You have been working hard and we are very proud of you," he said. "I hope that you are always strong in your Catholic faith and be willing to share generously all of your gifts and talents with our church and community." Music was provided by the Sacred Heart School chorus and instrumentalists under the direction of Philip Desrosiers.
