St. Vincent de Paul society plans walk

EAST PROVIDENCE — The St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Brendan Church will participate in the first annual nationwide “Friends of the Poor Walk” on September 27. Locally, groups will gather at Colt State Park in Bristol at 10 a.m. Pledges made on behalf of registered walkers will benefit programs that assist the less fortunate in the local community.

Pax Christi holds monthly meeting

WARWICK — Pax Christi RI, an affiliate of Pax Christi USA, a Catholic peace organization, will meet September 28, 6 p.m., at St. William Church, 200 Pettaconsett Ave. The meeting will begin with prayer in the church, followed by a discussion and planning session in the meeting room. St. Alexander Parish plans macaroni dinner

St. Paul Parish announces harvest supper

St. Luke School sponsors concert

BARRINGTON — St. Luke’s School will host a concert by Barry Russo on September 19, 7 p.m. in the school auditorium, 10 Waldron Avenue. Bishop Tobin to Speak at Revival

PROVIDENCE — Bishop Thomas J. Tobin will preach during the first of a three night spiritual renewal on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 7:00 p.m., Calvary Baptist Church, 747 Broad Street in Providence. The Diocesan and Holy Name Gospel Choirs will provide special music that evening. The revival, which is co-sponsored by the Minister’s Alliance of Rhode Island and the Rhode Island State Council of Churches, continues on Thursday and Friday evenings at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Vincent Thompson and Rev. Theresa Smith preaching. These services will focus on the importance of faith in challenging times. All are welcomed to attend these three nights of inspired music, preaching and fellowship.
