St. Brigid Anointing Mass

JOHNSTON — The parish nurses of St. Brigid Church, 1231 Plainfield St., will sponsor a Mass for the Anointing of the Sick, June 21, 11 a.m. Anyone suffering from an acute or chronic illness, preparing for surgery or who is advanced in years is welcome to receive this sacrament. Loreto Scripture study

EAST PROVIDENCE — Our Lady of Loreto Church, 346 Waterman Ave., will hold a Scripture study, June 17, 7-8 p.m. Timothy Reid, who earned a master’s degree in theology from Providence College, will present an overview of Corinthians I and II. The session will be held in the parish meeting room located next door to the church. There is no fee to attend the program but registration is required. Participants should bring a Bible. Memorabilia Raffle

JOHNSTON — The 30 Week Club of St. Brigid Church, 1231 Plainfield St. will raffle seven collectible professional quality framed and matted photographs of sports celebrities from the Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots. Many of the photos are autographed and have certificates of authenticity. “Day of Reflecting on Life” celebration

PROVIDENCE — The diocesan Respect Life Office will sponsor a “Day of Reflecting on Life,” June 21, beginning with Mass, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m, at St. Patrick Church, 244 Smith St. The day of reflection will be led by Father Frank Pavone, a nationally-known pro-life advocate and National Director of Priests for Life. St. Thomas More community celebration

NARRAGANSETT — St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland St., will hold a community-wide celebration in honor of the parish’s patron saint, June 19-22. The schedule will include a family festival, June 19, 6-11 p.m., under the tents at Veteran’s Park, located at the Towers. The festival will include food, entertainment and children’s activities. On June 20 at 7 p.m., in the church, renowned speaker Tom Staples will present a talk on the life and works of St. Thomas More. He will deliver two additional talks about St. Thomas More on June 21, 10 a.m. and noon, at St. Veronica Chapel, 1035 Boston Neck Road. The parish celebration will conclude with a Solem Mass celebrating the Feast of St. Thomas More, June 22, 10 a.m., in the church, followed by a Eucharistic procession through Narragansett.
