Parish to host Santo Cristo Feast

BRISTOL — St. Elizabeth Church, 577 Wood St., will host the feast of Santo Cristo de Milgares on May 31, and June 1-2. A feast Mass will be celebrated by the Father Luis Dutra at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, followed by a solemn procession that will begin at 3 p.m. The weekend will also include good music and great food. New ‘Angel Help Line’ is 24/7 source for post-abortive women

PROVIDENCE — The Office of Life and Family Ministry has announced the availability of an important resource for women and families. The “Angel Help Line,” is a 24-hour, 7 day a week resource, staffed by volunteers, that will assist callers in need of support and fulfill the needs of post-abortive women and men seeking healing and forgiveness. The Angels hope to engage the caller and then provide information on post-abortion ministries that promotes emotional and spiritual healing. Angels will also provide a lifeline to women and families calling for assistance through the diocesan Gabriel Project reaching out to women during and beyond pregnancy. Bring NET Ministries to your parish

PROVIDENCE — For 31 years, NET Ministries has trained more than 2,000 young adults in how to share their Catholic faith across the country through personal witness to junior high and high school youth through retreats. The teams encourage local Catholic youth to take a more active role in their faith though inspiring witness talks, small groups and funny skits. A NET Ministry team will be present in the Diocese of Providence from October 24-30. Dates are still available for retreats. ‘Theology on Tap’ to feature discussion on Mystery of Suffering

JOHNSTON — On Thursday, May 30, Young Adult Ministry will host “Theology on Tap” at Cancun Mexican Restaurant, 175 Putnam Pike. Lisa M. Gulino, director of the Diocesan Office of Religious Education and Val Monteiro will speak on “The Mystery of Suffering.” The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a meet and greet and the presentation will begin at 7 p.m. A free-will donation will be collected to support Diocesan Young Adult Ministry. Pasta dinner fundraiser to benefit Boston bombing victims

WARWICK — Join the parish community at St. Peter Church, 350 Fair St., for a pasta dinner fundraiser on Saturday, June 1, from 4 – 8 p.m. to benefit Celeste and Sydney Corcoran, a Massachusetts mother and daughter who were badly injured in the blasts at the Boston Marathon on April 15. Sydney suffered severe injuries and Celeste has lost both her legs below her knees. The fundraiser efforts are to help relieve some of the financial burden related to medical care. The event will feature a silent auction and other raffles, and the dinner will include pasta, meatballs, salad, fresh bread, butter, hot and cold beverages and dessert. All proceeds directly benefit the Celeste and Sydney Recovery Fund. Tickets available in advance and children 6 and under are free. Offering help for the bereaved

WARWICK — The Office of Life and Family is pleased to offer the Our Lady of Sorrows Bereavement Support Program at St. Catherine Church, 3252 Post Road. This support group offers a peaceful place for adults who have experienced the death of a loved one to learn about grief, and to share their experiences and feelings about loss with the spiritual support and comfort offered through our Catholic faith. The group is most appropriate for those who are at least three months beyond their loss. The group will be offered each Thursday (except July 4) 7 - 8:30 p.m., June 6 through August 1. Festival to be held in honor of patron saint

WARWICK — St. Kevin Parish, 333 Sandy Lane, will host a festival and carnival on Friday June 7, from 6 -11p.m., Saturday, June 8, from 12 - 11p.m.,and Sunday, June 9, from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. The festival will feature Bingo on Friday and Saturday with special prizes, a 50-50 raffle drawing on Sunday, carnival rides, games, live music tent, a food and bake sale, and gift and liquor baskets.
