St. Rocco Women’s Guild set spring bazaar

JOHNSTON – The Women’s Guild of St. Rocco Church will hold a spring bazaar, March 24, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., at the parish school, 931 Atwood Ave. Vendors will offer a variety of specialty items. The event will include face painting, games, a free Easter basket raffle for children, and a visit from the Easter Bunny. For more information, call 942-5203.

St. Eugene Church plans Italian festival

CHEPACHET – St. Eugene Church, 1251 Putnam Pike, will hold an Italian festival, March 31, 5:30 p.m., in the parish hall. The dinner menu will include salad, family-style pasta, meatballs, sausage and peppers, Eggplant and Chicken Parmesan, Italian cookies and beverages. The event will include entertainment and raffles. St. Mary Church plans Lenten fish supper

NEWPORT – The Pastoral Council of St. Mary Church, corner of Spring Street and Memorial Boulevard, will hold a Lenten supper, March 30, 5:30-8 p.m., in the parish hall. Dinner will be served until 7 p.m. The adult menu will include fish, rice and vegetables; the children’s menu features macaroni and cheese. St. Elizabeth Church to sponsor golf tournament

BRISTOL – The Santo Cristo Feast Committee of St. Elizabeth Church, 577 Wood St., will sponsor its annual golf tournament, May 6 at the Swansea Country Club, Swansea, Mass. The tournament will follow the scramble format; registration includes green fees, cart, dinner and prizes. Individuals who do golf are invited to attend the dinner. Providence College to present ‘Poor Murderer’

PROVIDENCE – The Dept. of Theatre, Dance and Film of Providence College will present “Poor Murderer,” March 30-April 1; April 13-15, at the Angell Blackfriars Theatre, Smith Center for the Arts. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m.; Sundays at 2 p.m. The play, set in Russia in 1905, centers around the life of an actor who is a patient in a psychiatric hospital and trying to recreate his life through a play he has written. Holy Cross Parish announces game supper

PROVIDENCE – Holy Cross Parish will host its annual game supper, March 18, 1 p.m., at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge, 95 Tanner St., Warwick. The all-game, seven-course dinner will include antipasto, country-style game chili and lasagna, venison with roasted potatoes and other entrees. Mission to focus on “The Last Four Things of Life”

PROVIDENCE – St. Joseph Church, 92 Hope St., will offer a Lenten mission entitled “The Last Four Things in Life: Judgment, Hell, Death and Heaven,” March 17-21. The mission will be presented by Father Dean Perri, J.C.L., administrator, St. Casimir Church, Providence, and judge, diocesan Marriage Tribunal, and will reflect on what each person will face at death, and how individuals should live according to the plan God has called them to live. Father Perri will preach at weekend Masses, March 17, 5 p.m.; and March 18, 9 and 11:15 a.m. The mission will continue March 19-21, 7 p.m., with a homily and Liturgy of the Word, with adoration and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament on Wednesday.
