NORTH PROVIDENCE — Father Timothy Reilly, chancellor of the Diocese of Providence, will celebrate the annual White Mass, Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital Chapel, 200 High Service Ave., to ask the Lord’s blessings upon those called to share His work of healing. A light reception will immediately follow the Mass in the hospital cafeteria. Reservations are not required, but are appreciated. Hope and Cope group for those in recovery

PORTSMOUTH — The next meeting of the Hope and Cope Group is Sunday, Oct. 16, at 5 p.m., at St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road. Hope and Cope is a faith-based support group intended for those supporting a family member or a friend struggling with alcohol, drugs, addictions and mental distress. Open to everyone especially anyone supporting someone in recovery or in recovery themselves. The Hope and Cope Group is held in the Chapel Meeting Room (under the Chapel). Magnificat to host breakfast and guest speaker

Saint Jude Triduum to be held at Saint Agnes Church

PROVIDENCE — Saint Agnes Church, 351 Branch Ave., will hold a Novena for three evenings in honor of Saint Jude. Catholic School Alumni to meet for Mass and fellowship at cathedral

PROVIDENCE — Catholic School Alumni will come together for Mass dedicated to the souls of deceased principals, teachers and fellow alumni of all open and closed Catholic elementary schools, on Sunday, Nov. 6, 10 a.m. at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul. St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Parish to host pro-life events

HARRISVILLE — St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Parish, 35 Dion Drive, will offer a Holy Hour for Life on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 9 a.m. All are also encouraged to help support the parish Baby Shower, a diocesan program that assists mothers and babies in a crisis pregnancy. Baby items needed include: clothing size 12 months to 4T diapers, especially size 4, 5, and 6; blankets; sheets; baby toiletries; gently used high chairs;swings, and strollers. Please no car seats. New York’s Escher String Quartet to perform at McVinney

‘Night of Thanks’ to benefit Assumption Parish Food Ministry

PROVIDENCE — The Home Loan Foundation, founded by Home Loan Investment Bank, will host its 5th annual fundraiser to benefit the Assumption Parish Food Ministry on Thursday, Nov. 17 from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. This partnership has resulted in nearly $200,000 donated to the Food Ministry on behalf of the Home Loan Foundation. This year’s event, “A Night of Thanks,” will feature music from John Scotti, a raffle, cocktails, and hors d’oeuvres prepared by culinary arts students at the Genesis Center, an organization that provides education, job training and support services to people of diverse cultures so that they may achieve economic independence and participate fully in society. Guests are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to help fill the Food Ministry’s Thanksgiving baskets, which will be distributed to more than 1,000 families before the holiday.
