Summer Camp for High School Boys

PROVIDENCE — All Catholic boys of high school age are invited to attend a Quo Vadis Days Camp to spend time with other young men discovering their purpose in life while having fun. The camp will be held from July 30 – August 2 at the Seminary of Our Lady of Providence. Quo Vadis Days Camp is led by priests and seminarians of the Diocese of Providence and is supported by the Office of Vocations. The camp will include reflections from priests and laymen, Mass with our bishop, an outdoor challenge course and other fun activities. Mother of Life Center to host Summer Gala to benefit ministry

CRANSTON — The Mother of Life Center will be hosting its first annual Summer Gala, Thursday, July 20, at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, with the theme “Be Our Guest.” Enjoy hors d’oeuvres from 6-7 p.m. with light jazz and dinner beginning at 7 p.m. The evening will also feature dancing, a silent auction, photo booth and more. There will also be live entertainment from “Take it to the Bridge,” performing music for all ages. Tickets are $75 for adults and $50 for students. College and high school-valid ID upon check in. St. Brigid’s Parish to host cabaret

JOHNSTON — St. Brigid’s Church, 1231 Plainfield St., is having a Cabaret Fundraiser on June 23 at the Santa Maria Hall, 31 Walnut Grove Ave., Cranston, at 6:30 p.m., with appetizer stations by Ralph’s. Tickets will be on sale in the foyer of the church prior to and after the Saturday 5 p.m. Mass, and Sundays at the 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Masses. Ham and Bean Supper to be served at St. Mary’s

WEST WARWICK — St. Mary Church, 68 Church St., will host the annual Big Pig Out: Miss Piggy’s Ham and Bean Supper, on Saturday, June 24, at 5 p.m. The menu will include hors d’oeuvres, Butterball baked ham, B&M baked beans, salad, bread and butter, beverages and dessert. St. Brendan Church to host Vacation Bible School

RIVERSIDE — St. Brendan Church, 60 Turner Ave., will host a Vacation Bible School, June 26 – June 30, from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. This program is for children entering kindergarten through fifth grade. Pasta Dinner to benefit mission trip

NORTH PROVIDENCE — The Guatemala Mission Team from St. Anthony and Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Edward’s Parishes, will host a pasta dinner on Saturday, June 24 in the Parish Center. There will be soup, salad, pasta, meatballs and dessert. Light entertainment and raffle prizes will be available. Celebrate World Day of Prayer for Priests

EAST PROVIDENCE — As each year the World Day of Prayer for Priests is celebrated on the Feast of the Sacred Heart, the Providence Serra Club is hosting a Holy Hour on Friday June 23, at Saint Brendan Parish, 60 Turner Ave., at 6:30 p.m. The hour will include Adoration, praying of the rosary, a homily offered by Pastor Father John Codega, and Benediction. All are also invited to pray the novena to the Sacred Heart for the Priesthood with Serra members, beginning Wednesday June 14, in preparation for the feast. United: An Evening of Hope and Remembrance

St. Joseph to host family-friendly magic, comedy show

PASCOAG — St. Joseph Parish will host ‘The Magic of David Oliver,’ a family-friendly show filled with magic, music, comedy and fun, along with dinner, on Friday, June 30, at 7 p.m. in the church hall, 183 Sayles Ave. The menu will include spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread, and dessert. Doors open at 5 p.m., with the meal served at 6 p.m. and the show at 7 p.m. Tickets are $16 adults; $8 children (ages 5-15); children 4 and younger will be guests of the parish. Dominican Friars to play concert at St. Pius V

PROVIDENCE — A band of Dominican Friars, The Hillbilly Thomists, will play a concert at St. Pius on Friday, June 23, at 7 p.m., in the St. Pius V Schoolyard. Bring a lawn chair, a cooler and enjoy this sunset performance of toe-tapping folk music. The Hillbilly Thomists, whose membership is comprised of exclusively Dominican friars, will bring the neighborhood together for a fun night. This event is hosted by the St. Pius Young Adults. ‘Spirit and Life’ continuing education series scheduled

WARWICK — SS. Rose and Clement Parish, 111 Long St., will begin a continuing education series called “Spirit and Life” on Wednesday June 28, at 7 p.m. in the church and continuing on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. It will start with meditation prayer and include scripture sharing and healing prayer. All are welcome on any night.

Immaculate Conception Church feast and festival

WESTERLY — The 89th annual celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel will take place at the church at 111 High Street. The feast begins with Triduum Masses on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, July 12, 13 and 14 at 7 p.m. On Saturday, July 15, there will be a family festival from noon until 10 p.m. on the church grounds, featuring favorite food specialties such as fried eggplant, sausage grinders, clams, baked goods and more. The faith community will celebrate the Special Friends and catechists involved in our SPRED program which provides religious development for people with physical and mental disabilities. SPRED utilizes one-on-one relationships in small faith communities in order to bring the Special Friends into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.
