WOONSOCKET — St. Agatha Parish, along with Precious Blood Parish, will be hosting a “Day of Evangelization” on Saturday, June 7 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at St. Agatha Church, which is located at the corner of Logee Street and Fairfield Ave. After a morning rosary and Mass, participants will learn the “art of evangelization.” They will then be sent forth by Father Michael Kelley and travel within parish boundaries by going door-to-door and introducing themselves to neighbors to offer spiritual and corporeal aid, as well as answer questions about the Catholic Church and the parish. Patronal feast at Sacred Heart Parish EAST PROVIDENCE — Sacred Heart Parish, 118 Taunton Ave., will hold a patronal feast on Friday, June 13 through Sunday, June 15. On Friday, food and bazaar booths will open at 6 p.m., while all other booths will be open from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. On Saturday, a Vigil Mass will take place at 5 p.m. Following the Mass, all booths will be open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., with an auction at 7:30 p.m. On Sunday, coffee and malasadas will be available after all Masses. A procession with the Blessed Sacrament and the Statue of the Sacred Heart will follow the 11 a.m. Mass. The event will conclude with Benediction in front of the church. Anniversary Gala at St. Benedict WARWICK — In preparation for the parish’s 100th anniversary gala, St. Benedict Church, 135 Beach Ave., is holding a volunteer committee meeting in the rectory on Monday, June 16 at 7 p.m. Parishioners are looking for former priests, deacons, principals, nuns, teachers, students and choir members, as well as former and present parishioners, to submit pictures and past history to make this a memorable and uplifting event not only for the parish, but also the faith community. Mass of Anointing at St. Brigid JOHNSTON — The nurses of St. Brigid Church, 1231 Plainfield St., are sponsoring their quarterly Mass of Anointing on Saturday, June 7 at 11 a.m. Whether individuals are preparing for surgery, suffering from a chronic illness, or experiencing spiritual or emotional pain, they are welcome to attend the service, which will be led by parish pastor, Father Robert Rochon. Strawberry festival at St. Joseph NORTH SCITUATE — St. Joseph Church, 144 Danielson Pike, is hosting its annual Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 7 following the 4 p.m. Mass and continuing until 7:30 p.m. The menu includes baked ham, barbecued chicken, potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw, corn muffins and beverages, plus strawberry shortcake for dessert. Bereavement support program at Our Lady of Loreto EAST PROVIDENCE — The Office of Life and Family will offer the Our Lady of Sorrows Bereavement Support program at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 346 Waterman Ave., from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. every Thursday from June 12 through August 7, excluding July 3. The group provides a peaceful place to share and cope with grief, along with the spiritual comfort of the Catholic faith. It is most appropriate for adults at three months beyond their loss. The event includes amusement rides, games for children of all ages, a dunk tank, as well as live entertainment. Food, beer and wine will be served, along with other refreshments. Spaghetti Supper at St. Agatha WOONSOCKET — St. Agatha and Precious Blood Youth Ministry is having a spaghetti supper on Saturday, June 21 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the St. Agatha Church hall, which is located at the corner of Logee St. and Fairfield Ave. The menu includes “All You Can Eat” pasta, meatballs, salad, bread, beverages, and dessert. Advance ticket sales are preferred and are available at St. Agatha Rectory, 34 Joffre Ave., but will also be sold at the door. Polish festival WEBSTER, Mass. — St. Joseph Basilica Parish will be holding their 41st annual Polish Festival from Friday June 13 through Sunday, June 15 on the grounds of the Polish American Citizens Club, 37 Harris St. in Webster, Mass. The festival, which will feature fun, games, rides, and crafts, will open on Friday, June 13 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., from noon until 11 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 15. The festival Mass will be held June 14 at 4 p.m. at St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St., also in Webster. Polish and American food will be available all weekend. All raffles will be drawn at the close of the festival. All proceeds to benefit St. Joseph School. Tickets are limited, and advance sales are required. Free dental clinic LINCOLN — The Community College of Rhode Island’s Flanagan Campus, 1762 Louisquisset Pike, is hosting the Rhode Island Mission of Mercy free dental clinic on Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1. Beginning each morning at 6 a.m., licensed dental professional volunteers will be on hand until the clinic reaches capacity. Dental services will be provided to adults and children at no cost. Services include cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, x-rays, oral health instructions, fillings, root canal treatments on front teeth, and tooth extractions. On Saturday, small denture repairs and front partials will be offered. Patients will be seen on a first-come, first-serve basis. The event is sponsored by Delta Dental and CCRI.
