St. Timothy’s to host concert with Christian music artist Ryan Tremblay

WARWICK — St. Timothy’s Church, 1799 Warwick Ave, will host a concert with Ryan Tremblay on Friday, June 3, at 7 p.m. Ryan is a highly talented Christian musician with a style that appeals to all ages. The admission price is a free-will offering, and the church will also hold its annual big Split-the-Pot at this event. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the concert. St. Eugene Church & St. Vincent de Paul Society to host breakfast

HARMONY — St. Eugene Church and the St. Vincent de Paul Society will host a breakfast at Chester’s Restaurant, 102 Putnam Pike (Rte. 44), on Saturday, May 28 at 10 a.m. Tickets will be on sale May 21 and 22. Your support makes it possible to help the needy in our community. All proceeds will go towards our food pantry.

St. Mark Church to observe Corpus Christi with solemn Mass

CRANSTON — All are invited to a celebration of Corpus Christi, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, at St. Mark Church, 9 Garden Court (in Garden City), on Sunday, May 29. The celebration will consist of Solemn Mass at 11 a.m. and a traditional Eucharistic Procession of song and prayer followed by Benediction and conclude with a light reception. The procession will travel the city block of the St. Mark grounds.

St. Charles Borromeo to hold talk on French-Canadian culture

WOONSOCKET — On May 22 at 3 p.m., St. Charles Borromeo Church, 190 North Main St., will host writer and historical reenactor Paul Bourget for an examination of the Sentinelle Affair, the local underground movement to preserve French Canadian culture that led to the excommunication of 61 congregants. The Movement Sentinelliste, one of the most divisive periods in Woonsocket’s history, caused battle lines to be drawn among French-Canadians in St. Ann’s Parish and throughout New England. Bourget will discuss the roots of the movement, its impact on the city, and the long-term ramifications of the members’ actions. The event will take place in the church hall, located on Daniels Street.

St. Gabriel’s Call to host workshop for current and future volunteers

JOHNSTON — St. Gabriel’s Call, a diocesan pastoral outreach program committed to offering assistance to women and families facing a crisis or unplanned pregnancy, will hold a workshop for current Gabriel team members and those interested in learning more about the ministry on Saturday, June 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Rocco School, 937 Atwood Ave. Please pre-register by contacting Carol Owens in the Office of Life and Family Ministry at 401-421-7833 x 218 or emailing cowens@dioceseofprovidence.org. Novena Service to be held Tuesdays in May

JOHNSTON — St. Rocco Church will honor the month of the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary with a Novena Service each Tuesday evening during May. Beginning at 7 p.m. in the church at 927 Atwood Ave., the service will include Rosary and Novena prayers and Benediction.

Jon Polce to perform at Magnificat event

PROVIDENCE — "Magnificat" Our Lady of Divine Providence, will host a breakfast on Saturday, June 4, from 8:30 a.m. - noon at the Providence Marriot. Jon Polce, vocalist and composer, will share his testimony of a dramatic conversion that led to his devotion of communicating the message of the Gospel of Jesus through song. The Roast of Father Joseph Paquette

WARWICK — The Delaney-St. Teresa’s Knights of Columbus Council #57 in association with the State Knights of Columbus and the St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Parish community are hosting the Roast of Father Joseph Paquette. Acclaimed composer to perform at local church

The Providence Diocese St. Matthias Ministry announces upcoming events

WEST WARWICK — The next Masses for the intentions of recovery, open to everyone, will be on the West Bay on Sunday, May 22, at St. Mary’s Church, 70 Church St., at 5 p.m. This Mass also includes the opportunity for Anointing of the Sick. Immediately following Mass, at 6:30 p.m. in the church hall – in cooperation with the St. Matthias Ministry for Recovery, F.I.R.E. (Faith Infused Recovery Efforts), ATTC (Addiction Technology Transfer Center Network) and RI-Cares, the video “Addressing Addiction and Supporting Recovery Through Faith” will be featured. Office of Vocations organizing Vocations Race Team

PROVIDENCE — The Office of Vocations is organizing a race team for The Gaspee Days, 51st Allan & Edna W. Brown 5K Memorial Foot Race at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 11. Bishop Athanasius Schneider to offer talk, vespers, and pontifical Mass
