Mardi Gras celebration

JOHNSTON — St. Anne Sodality of Our Lady of Grace Church, 4 Lafayette St., is sponsoring its ninth annual Mardi Gras on March 1 at Fioretti Hall, located below the church. The festivities begin at 6 p.m., with an antipasti table, while dinner will be served at 7 p.m. There will be music, dancing, games, gift raffle baskets, prizes and more. Anniversary Mass for Rev. Henry J. Crepeau

CUMBERLAND — On Sunday, Feb. 23, a fiftieth anniversary Mass for Reverend Henry J. Crepeau will be celebrated at 7:30 a.m., at St. Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Road. For many years, Father Crepeau served as the head of Social Services in Woonsocket. He served as pastor of St. Joan of Arc when he passed away in 1964. Seminar on grief & loss

Bible Study on the Gospel of Luke

PAWTUCKET — A Bible study on the Gospel of St. Luke will take place at St. Teresa’s Church Hall, 358 Newport Ave., on Thursday evenings beginning Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. The study will be facilitated by Lisa M. Gulino, director for the Office of Evangelization and Faith Formation, Diocese of Providence. Exploring the key themes, tools will be given to help unlock the richness of the Gospel. Participants will also learn the spiritual exercise of Lectio Divina, which is a way to prayerful meditate on the sacred writings. Registration is required so materials can be prepared. Recovery Mass

WEST WARWICK — In cooperation with the Providence Diocese St. Matthias Recovery Ministry, the next quarterly recovery Mass in the West Bay area will at St. Mary’s Church, 68 Church St., on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 6 p.m. The Mass focuses on recovery from alcoholism and addiction, as well as mental and emotional distress and anxiety. The families of those in recovery, parishioners of St. Mary’s and the entire community is invited to attend. Recovery Masses will continue to be celebrated quarterly, on the following dates: May 17, Aug. 16 and Nov. 15. Catholic Youth Ministry Series

WEST WARWICK — The Office of Youth Ministry is announcing new workshops to assist parishes in forming and growing a strong youth ministry program. “The Catholic Youth Ministry Series” workshops are geared for youth and adult teams from parishes. They will focus on two themes, including “Living Faith: Activities that Evangelize and Engage,” which will provide the parish with a toolkit and ideas to grow its youth ministry, as well as “Young in the Spirit: The Youth Friendly Parish,” which will help to inspire and challenge a parish in its efforts to meet the needs of its’ young people. Wine and beer tasting

NORTH SCITUATE — On Friday, Feb. 28 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., St. Joseph Parish Family, 144 Danielson Pike, will host its first wine and beer tasting. The event, which is sponsored by Atwood Liquors, will offer a variety of beer and wine, plus food. All proceeds will benefit transportation for the mission bus trip.
