Theology on Tap: Catholic Spirituality from Dating to Marriage

PROVIDENCE — On Thursday, February 12, the Diocese of Providence Young Adult Ministry will sponsor a Theology on Tap for young adults in their 20s and 30s at Costantino’s Venda Bar and Ristorante, 265 Atwells Ave. The event will begin with fellowship at 6 p.m., followed by a presentation at 7:30 p.m. by Keith and Lisa Kline, coordinators of Family Ministry at St. Philip Parish, Greenville, and coordinators of the Diocesan Pilgrimage to the World Meeting of Families – Philadelphia 2015. This husband and wife team will give witness to how prayer practices can grow from dating to marriage, to prayer as a family. Practical ways to pray as a young adult and a Q & A session will be included. There is no charge for this event. Must be 21+ to purchase alcoholic beverages. Diocese to join millions at 2016 World Youth Day in Poland PROVIDENCE — The Diocese of Providence will embark on the once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage to World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland July 23-August 4, 2016. WYD is unique opportunity to spend time celebrating the Catholic faith with Pope Francis and 3 million Catholic young people from all around the world. The pilgrimage is geared for ages 16-35, but all are welcome. To reserve a spot, a non-refundable deposit of $100 must be paid by February 28, 2015. St. Thomas More Parish to host Irish Night NARRAGANSETT — Please join St. Thomas More Parish at the Village Inn, 1 Beach St., at 6 p.m. on Friday, February 6 to celebrate “Going Irish for the Orphans.” The fun night will include live Celtic music featuring seven seminarians, live and silent auctions and raffles. LAOH High School Tuition Scholarship 2015 NEWPORT — The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians will offer a tuition scholarship to benefit a female student who attends a Catholic High School. The scholarship is open to Newport County residents who are completing grade 9 and will enter their sophomore year in the fall of 2015. To be eligible, students must be related to a member in good standing of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians or the Dennis E. Collins, Division 1, Ancient Order of Hibernians, both in Newport. The finalist will receive a $1,000 award to be applied for the upcoming academic year tuition.
