Sister Patricia McCarthy offered a touching story of Etty Hillesum's passion of God's love in a world torn apart by violence.
The following words of Etty Hillesum written in Auschwitz offer wisdom and point to the need for courage in our world being torn apart by violence, "If there is ever to be peace, it won't be until each individual achieves peace within himself, expels feelings of hatred for a race or group of people, or better, can dominate hatred and change it into something else, maybe even love- or is that asking too much? It is the only solution." Isn't this the conversion, centered in Jesus, that God expects from every one of us?
