Pray that our new President chooses justly in filling Supreme Court vacancy

Posted

In about three weeks Donald Trump will be inaugurated as the next President of the United States. The President-elect has made many promises which entail the basic fundamental premise of making America great again. Whether he keeps his campaign promises remains to be seen, but we should be praying for him to be a just President, especially in the battle over the next selection of a Supreme Court justice along the lines of Justice Antonin Scalia. In order for America to be made ‘Great’ again, the moral order needs to be re-established in law which includes defending traditional marriage between a man and a woman and, protecting the unborn by overturning Roe v. Wade. Religious freedoms also need to be affirmed so that all may be able to worship God without fear of reprisal from government agencies. Over the past eight years the Obama administration has tried to ideologically colonize countries throughout the world by offering them financial aid with strings attached such as only offering this aid if these countries promote same-sex marriage laws, contraception and abortion. These are not the values on which this country was founded nor should the new administration continue in this aggressive behavior which is supported by many people in the United Nations. There is a great political and moral divide in the United States and if we continue down this destructive moral pathway, the nation as we know it will fall into chaos. Let us pray, especially through the intercession of Our Lady of Guadalupe, that America will be made great morally again.
