Holy Family to offer Interfaith Thanksgiving service to benefit 'Keep the Heat On'

WOONSOCKET — Holy Family Parish, 414 South Main St., will host its annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, Nov. 22 at 3 p.m., with a light supper to follow in the parish hall.

The Most Rev. Louis E. Gelineau, Bishop Emeritus, will preside at the service, which will feature an organ concert by Brother Enoch Valentine, a greeting by Holy Family Pastor Father Edward G. St-Godard and the lighting of the Interfaith candelabra, followed by an opening prayer by Father John A. Kiley and Hindu greetings by Swami Yogatmananda.

A variety of music will be offered, including in the Protestant tradition by the Slatersville Congregational Church Choir, and in the Catholic tradition by the Missionary Sisters of Charity of Baltic, and by the choirs of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and Holy Family Church.

A sermon will be delivered by Rev. Dr. Sammy Vaughan, and a collection for the benefit of the diocese's 'Keep the Heat On' program will also be taken up during the service. For more information, call 762-0830.
