Blessing of the Bikes at St. Eugene
CHEPACHET — Father T.J. Varghese will host the “Blessing of the Bikes” on Saturday, May 7, at 1 p.m. in the parking lot of St. Eugene Church, 1251 Putnam Pike. Anyone who would like to have their motorcycle blessed before they head out for the warm summer riding should stop by. All are invited to share this important event so that others will also have a safe ride for the summer.

Adult Faith Formation Series to conclude with ‘The Ten Commandments’
WARWICK — St. Gregory the Great Parish will conclude its Adult Faith Formation series on Tuesday, May 10 in the church hall with “The Ten Commandments.” The session will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Led by Deacon Dr. Paul Kirk, this session will center on the role of the Ten Commandments and an exploration of how three of the Commandments treat a relationship with God, while seven others concern relationships with one another. Dr. Kirk was ordained to Permanent Diaconate in 2002 and received an M.A. in Pastoral Theology from Providence College in 2003. He has served as a catechist in St. Gregory's RCIA program for 25 years. He received a B.A. in Philosophy and English from St. Vincent College and a DDS from Georgetown University. This is the final session that takes a closer look at all aspects of the Church and more fully explores our Catholic faith. St. Patrick Church to host Holy Spirit Festival
PROVIDENCE — St. Patrick Church, 244 Smith St., will present The Holy Spirit Festival, in honor of Mary Queen of Heaven, on Saturday, May 14 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. There will be a healing service at 2 p.m., and Father James Ruggieri will speak on “Mary, Mother of the Eucharist.” There will be free food and beverages, raffles, live music, free hygiene supplies and free cloth. SPRED Liturgy at St. Benedict Parish
WARWICK — St. Benedict Parish, 135 Beach Ave., will hold a SPRED Liturgy at the 4 p.m. Mass on Saturday May 14. SPRED (Special Religious Development) is a Religious program for the physically and mentally challenged, including parishioners from St. Benedict, St. Kevin, St. Timothy, St. Mary, Cranston, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Gregory the Great as well as St. Francis De Sales North Kingstown. SPRED participants will be preparing the altar and presenting the gifts during the Mass. All are welcome to attend the Mass and Open House that follows, where refreshments will be served in the parish hall, which is handicapped accessible.
St. Benedict Church annual May Breakfast
WARWICK — St. Benedict Church will host their annual May Breakfast Saturday, May 7, from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m., in St. Benedict Parish Hall, 70 Transit St. The menu will include pancakes, ham, sausage, scrambled eggs, home fries, baked beans, muffins, toast, fruit, coffee, tea and orange juice. Repairing Rhode Island Conference
PROVIDENCE — Join the Rhode Island Interfaith Coalition to Reduce Poverty for the eighth annual conference titled “Tikkun Olam/Repairing Rhode Island” which will be held on Wednesday, May 11 from 8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Rhode Island College, 600 Mount Pleasant Ave. Rabbi Jonah Pesner, director of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism will be the event’s keynote speaker. His reflections will be centered on the theme of Tikkun Olam/Repairing RI. Workshops will focus on topics including senior issues, racial/ethnic disparities, local community collaboration and policy change. Students invited to take Mount Saint Charles Academy’s May entrance exam
WOONSOCKET — Mount Saint Charles Academy will hold its May Entrance Exam on Saturday, May 7 at 8:15 a.m. Qualified students entering grades six through nine are invited to take the test as well as those transferring into grade 10. Students interested in transferring into grade 11 must contact the Admissions Office. Novena Service to be held Tuesdays in May
JOHNSTON — St. Rocco Church will honor the month of the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary with a Novena Service each Tuesday evening during May. Young adults invited to ‘Grill the Priests’
PROVIDENCE — Young Adults, single or married, in their 20s and 30s, are invited to Grill the Priests on Friday, May 13, 7 p.m., at Dave & Buster’s, Providence Place Mall, 40 Providence Place. Come for appetizers at 7 p.m. followed by a Q&A with a panel of priests including Msgr. Albert Kenney, Rev. Ryan Connors, Rev. Christopher Murphy, Rev. Philip Neri Reese, OP, and Rev. Timothy Reilly.
