Black History Month Mass, dinner planned

PROVIDENCE - The diocesan Office of Black Catholic Ministry, in collaboration with St. Michael the Archangel Church, 239 Oxford St., will sponsor a Mass and celebration in honor of Black History Month, Feb. 24, 5:30 p.m., in the church. The Mass will include music performed by the Diocesan Gospel, Holy Name of Jesus, Haitian Youth Group, Hmong Youth, Hispanic and Bishop McVinney School Youth choirs. Penitents plan 'Lenten Day of Recollection' TIVERTON - The Confraternity of Penitents will host a "Lenten Day of Reflection," Feb. 24, 8:30 a.m.-3:15 p.m., at Holy Ghost Church, 311 Hooper St. The event will include registration, recitation of the rosary, Mass, conferences, the sacrament of reconciliation, adoratation of the Blessed Sacrament and the Stations of the Cross. Workshop planned about domestic violence

WAKEFIELD - The Faith Alliance of South County, a newly-formed group of persons of faith seeking to end domestic violence, will present a workshop entitled "When Love Hurts: Dealing with Domestic Abuse," Feb. 15, 7-8:30 p.m., at the Peace Dale Congregational Church, 261 Columbia St., Wakefield.
