Study Advent and Christmas seasons

EAST PROVIDENCE — Father Ronald E. Brassard, Pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish, Cranston, will be teaching a series on the liturgy on the first Tuesday of each month from 7-8 p.m. at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 346 Waterman Avenue. December 2 will be dedicated to “Advent - A Time Made Holy: An Analysis of the Concept of the Liturgical Advent & Christmas Seasons.” There is no fee, but registration is required to accommodate limited seating and order course materials. Study the Old Testament

EAST PROVIDENCE — Our Lady of Loreto Church, 346 Waterman Avenue, will hold a Scripture study, November 18, 7-8 p.m. Timothy Reid, who holds a master’s degree in theology from Providence College, will present an overview of the Old Testament Book of Ezekiel. The class will be held at the former parish school on Carlton Street. The class is free, but registration is required. Participants should bring a Bible. Learn about your faith

EAST PROVIDENCE — A course focusing on the Catechism of the Catholic Church taught by Father Michael Colello, Administrative Secretary to Bishop Thomas J. Tobin, will be offered on November 18, 7-8 p.m., at St. Margaret Parish Center, Pawtucket Avenue. The class will focus on Chapter One of the Catechism: “My Soul Longs for You, O God.” While there is no fee, registration is required for handouts and because of limited seating. Play ‘Thanksgiving Bingo’ at St. Adalbert

PROVIDENCE — St. Adalbert Parish, 866 Atwells Avenue, will host “Thanksgiving Family Bingo,” November 22, beginning at 6 p.m. The kitchen opens at 5 p.m, serving Polish and American food. The event will include cash and basket raffles and bingo games. For more information, call 351-9306.

Mass and healing service in Pawtucket

PAWTUCKET — The Sacred Heart of Jesus and St. Joseph Catholic Community will hold a Mass and healing service, November 16, beginning at 1:45 p.m., with the recitation of the rosary. Feast Day Festival

NORTH PROVIDENCE – The Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 1081 Mineral Spring Ave., will hold a feast day festival Friday, November 14 - Sunday, November 16. On Friday night Bingo will be held starting at 7 p.m., admission is $10. On Saturday the church will host an Italian Buffet dinner from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. for $10, please make a reservation by 2:30 p.m. on Friday. On Sunday from 11 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. the church will host children’s games, a variety show, and raffles including a raffle for tickets to a Patriots game. Blackfriars Dance

PROVIDENCE – Providence College will host a dance concert on Friday, November 21 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, November 22 at 2 p.m. at the Angell Blackfriars Theatre. The concert will feature works by visiting artists and resident artist Lindsay Guarino. Tickets are $11, $8 for seniors, and $5 for students. COVENTRY – Gabriel’s Trumpet Catholic Book, Gift and Media Store, 477 Washington Street, will hold its annual Christmas Open House on Saturday, November 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Light refreshments, music, door prizes, and complimentary gift wrapping will be available. The volunteer-operated store features books and gifts with Catholic themes as well as nativity sets and Christmas cards. Profits benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Health Ministry in Providence. Holiday Shopping benefits autism

WARWICK – St. Peter Church will host a holiday shopping event on Saturday, November 15 from 10 a.m. -3 p.m. to benefit the “Autism and the Sacraments” Faith Formation Program. Vendors on-site will offer great gift ideas. St. Peter’s Church is one of only a few in the country to offer a religious education program for children on the Autism spectrum. How can you support pregnant women?

PAWTUCKET – The Respect Life Office will offer a Gabriel Project Workshop on Saturday, November 15 at 8:30 a.m. at St. Martha’s Church, 2595 Pawtucket Ave. The workshop will feature a Eucharist and Prayer Service, followed by an overview of Project Gabriel and a reflection on the Book of Ruth presented by Sr. Carol Mary Morrison, RSM. This workshop is the final one for this year, and a beautiful way to prepare for Advent. The workshop is open to all, pre-registration is required. Please call Carol A. Weekend of Reflection and Music
